In a bid to make travel more seamless and secure for more passengers, New York JFK International Airport and Bahrain’s Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications have selected new airport security systems from Thales.
JFK International Airport Terminal 4 will modernize its Security Operations Center with Thales security and smart airport solutions.
The three-year contract with the European aerospace, transport, defence, and security technology company is part of a modernization project underway at the terminal.
Thales will deliver an Airport Operation Control Center platform which will manage security and operations of the terminal more efficiently. The tech provider will lead the system integration.

Bahrain International Airport will rely on new airport control systems from Thales and SITA which will help it keep up with its forecast passenger growth of 14 million passengers by 2020.
The systems integration is concurrent with a program launched in 2015 to modernize the airport’s infrastructure in support of Bahrain’s efforts to grow its footprint as a tourism hub.
Thales will lead the project as integrator, delivering security systems which include smart video protection, access control and biometrics, IT and telecommunications infrastructure.
It will also offer Bahrain end-to-end systems protections, capitalizing on its strengths in cybersecurity and data protection.
