Hotelbeds has developed a set of APIs to make it easier for partners such as online travel agents and tour operators to work with it.
Branded APItude, the three APIs cover content, caching and booking and should reduce the time required to integrate with the company down to about a month.
Unveiling the strategy during WTM, Hotelbeds sales chief Sam Turner admitted the company had not made things simple enough.

"It's taking a step back and saying we are too complex for partners to deal with. The basis for differentiation in the future will to be seen to be very easy to work with."
A key pillar of Apitude is connectivity and ensuring developers can easily integrate with the company through simpler coding and without having to jump through the usual documentation hoops.
The average time taken to get a partner up and running on the system has been about three months until now and Hotelbeds is hopeful the technology will reduce that to about a month.
Turner says a six-figure sum had been invested in the development, which brings together all the hotel information and images as well as funtionality to enable customisation such as advanced filters and geolocation.
He adds that Hotelbeds is anticipating a 30% improvement in response times via the new system.
Carlos Bautista, part of the support team, says the APIs were beta tested during THacks in Dublin and Hamburg.
The company is now encouraging partners to migrate to the new system but will continue to support the existing API.
