Here's a video from TED on blockchain which is worth watching for its explanation of the concept as well as solid examples of where it could be put to good use.
It's by business strategist Don Tapscott who specialises in the role of technology in business and society.
Fast forward to around 11 minutes for some references to the like of Airbnb, Uber and Lyft and the lack of sharing in the sharing economy.
And, also around 14 minutes where Tapscott talks about data, digital crumbs and the "virtual you." That last bit is especially interesting in light of SITA Lab's work with ShoCard to help improve passenger identity at airports.
