A recent survey from Avis Car Rental found that 87% of travelers
mix business and leisure in the same trip.
To make it easier for those travelers to reconcile expenses,
Avis has created a “Split My Bill” feature in its mobile app that enables users
to divide payment between corporate and personal credit cards or forms of payment.
Customers can split their payment by total bill amount,
rental days or additions such as SiriusXM Radio. They can also put the cost of
a vehicle upgrade on a second form of payment during a single rental period.

“With the introduction of Split My Bill, our business
travelers can go beyond the corporate experience or trip to experience upgrades
and additional services that travelers enjoy and want,” says Beth Gibson, vice president of ancillary revenue at Avis Budget Group.
“We recognize that many travelers use business trips as an
opportunity to explore new cities solo or meet up with family in the area and
are thrilled to offer a feature that will help them make the reconciliation of
travel expenses cleaner and easier.”
Research last year from Expedia Group Media Solutions found that business trips that turn into bleisure trips are split almost evenly across domestic or international destinations. And adding a leisure experience to a business trip can almost double the length of the trip.
The "Split My Bill" feature is available to all members of Avis Preferred, the brand's free loyalty program. Travelers can adjust payment forms in the mobile app or at
Avis.com any time during the rental period.
