Agoda has expanded its artificial intelligence (AI) assistant to mobile app users in 21 markets after a limited beta in September.
The online travel agency said the assistant is "built for multi-step travel decisions," allowing travelers to use natural language to weigh different itinerary options and complete bookings. OpenAI models currently power its core conversational intelligence.
The AI assistant also uses Google's Gemini to pull information from Google Maps when users search for restaurants and points of interest. Additionally, it can run web searches for current details alongside Agoda's live inventory.
Singapore-based Agoda said its beta testing suggested travelers are more likely to book multiple trip components, such as flights, hotels and tours, when using the AI assistant.
"Travel planning today is fragmented. People jump between apps, tabs, messages and spreadsheets just to organize a single trip. With Agoda’s AI assistant, we’re changing that," said Omri Morgenshtern, Agoda CEO.
"We’re giving travelers a smart companion that understands their preferences and trip context and adapts to their needs. Our goal is to remove the repetitive work from travel planning, so travelers can make inspired decisions with more confidence."
Agoda also became a connected in Meta's Muse AI agent last week, coinciding with Muse's launch in Singapore.
