Luggage storage platform Stasher has secured fresh funding to expand the rollout of its smart locker network in the U.K.
The £3 million total includes £2 million in growth financing from Gilion, which will help London-based Stasher expand its global marketplace and add more locations to its network. The remaining £1 million strategic investment comes from smart locker provider Hive Box.
Earlier this week, Stasher and Hive Box announced a strategic agreement, with Hive Box supplying 100 smart lockers for deployment at hotels, railway stations, airports and tourist centers across the U.K. and Europe by mid-2027. The companies plan to deploy 1,000 or more lockers in the future.
Stasher's business model has primarily been a marketplace, connecting travelers with hotels that have space to store luggage. Smart lockers offer travelers a 24-hour self-service storage option, allowing them to stow and collect their own bags in a secure compartment via a QR code.
"Hotels have always been a huge part of the Stasher network, so we know how much demand there is for luggage storage and how much work can sit behind what seems like a simple guest service," said Jacob Wedderburn-Day, Stasher CEO and co-founder.
"This funding gives us the firepower to expand our marketplace and bring smart lockers to more hotels, giving guests greater flexibility while reducing manual handling for hotel teams."
The Hive Box smart lockers are now available at 17 Premier Inn properties in London, Edinburgh and Manchester, as well as Zedwell Trocadero at Piccadilly Circus and StayKula properties in Kensington. The rollout follows an initial pilot at Premier Inn London St Pancras last November.
The lockers have Hive Box's hardware and technology and are integrated with Stasher's booking platform.

Stasher also works with Dublin-based aparthotel operator Staycity Aparthotels, which uses earlier Stasher locker models.
In May 2025, Stasher partnered with France-based Quadient to offer luggage storage through its network of over 1,640 Parcel Pending by Quadient smart lockers in the U.K.
In June 2024, Stasher acquired New York-based competitor StoreMe for an undisclosed amount. It also previously acquired U.S.-based Cubby, Airkeep in Latin American and MindMyBag in Australia.
In 2020, Stasher raised $2.5 million to fund growth.
