Global distribution specialist Travelport has announced that
COO and deputy CEO John Mangelaars will take over as CEO from April 1.
Current CEO Greg Webb, who took up the role in mid-2019, has
decided to step down as CEO effective March 31, 2026. Webb joined Travelport a year after the company returned to private equity in 2018 after four years on the public markets. He will remain on the board
of directors.
“It has been a privilege to work alongside some of the most
talented people in the travel industry at Travelport,” Webb said. “I am proud
of what we have accomplished together and am confident that John will continue
to accelerate our progress and deliver exceptional value to our customers.”
Mangelaars joined Travelport at the end of September with a
remit to deliver the “scale, reliability and innovation that both agencies and
suppliers” need in today’s marketplace. He was previously CEO at Skyscanner, a
role he took up in January 2021.
"Our mission remains clear: to enhance travel retailing
by delivering smarter, faster, and more connected solutions for our customers,”
said Mangelaars. “I look forward to working with our excellent team and valued
partners to continue driving innovation and growth."
