Vacation rental platform HomeToGo has launched an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered filter that allows travelers to use natural language search for specific queries.
Its “AI Filter” is being tested in beta with select users in Germany and the United States on the web and in the HomeToGo app. The feature is available in HomeToGo’s filters menu, where travelers can input what they’re looking for in their own words. The filter then generates vacation rentals “tailored to the traveler’s unique preferences,” the company said in a release.
“Everyone’s ideal getaway looks different, and with AI Filter travelers can now use their own words to describe the features that matter most to them. It’s another powerful way HomeToGo matches every traveler with their perfect home,” said Patrick Andrae, CEO and co-founder of HomeToGo.

The company said the new feature adds value by identifying the specific features that travelers are searching for. Preliminary data revealed that some of these amenities include game rooms, saunas, king beds, outdoor televisions and golf carts, among others.
AI Filter also allows guests to pinpoint exactly what they need. In graphics posted on LinkedIn, the company used examples where a traveler could search for “dog bowls and beds available,” as opposed to just “pet-friendly,” or “covered garage with room for two cars,” as opposed to just “parking.”
“Even in its early stage, AI Filter was already surfacing valuable insights about what guests really want, helping our partners gear up for the summer season and optimize performance long-term,” Andrae said. “We’re very proud that HomeToGo continues to lead our industry in AI innovation by launching real tools that make search and booking smarter.”
The company said a larger rollout of the feature is planned based on the results of beta testing.
This initiative is the latest addition to HomeToGo’s AI solutions. The company also has an AI-powered travel assistant, AI Sunny, and an AI-powered travel planner, AI Mode. In 2023, the company revealed its vision to be “fully AI-powered" and introduced Smart Reviews and Smart Offer Summaries.
