eDreams Odigeo is planning to acquire the assets of RoamAmore, operator of the hotel booking platform Waylo.
According to the Spain-based online travel agency, the San-Francisco-based startup will help eDreams expand its hotel and dynamic packages through artificial intelligence-driven technology.
Waylo, which launched in 2017, offers consumers discounted rooms by predicting price reductions on surplus rooms.
The company attracted seed funding from the Boost VC accelerator in April 2017.
Dana Dunne, CEO of eDreams Odigeo, says: “With this acquisition, we are thrilled to be further strengthening our hotel and dynamic package products, which are central to our product and revenue diversification strategy that is successfully building an attractive, diversified and sustainable business.”
eDreams acquired BudgetPlaces three years ago, saying the acquisition would give it access to "innovative technology and improve product diversification."
The hotel section of the flagship eDreams website runs as an affiliate of Booking.com.
The deal to buy Waylo is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2020.
