Dutch tour and activity brand Withlocals has doubled its investment capital so far following news of an €8 million raise this week.
The Series B round was led by Keen Venture Partners and also saw participation from previous backer Inkef Capital.
The latest round will be used to support a number of initiatives, CEO Matthijs Keij says, with the ambitious goal of being "the global leader in personalized travel."
The total raised by the company now stands at just under €16 million.

It's most recent round was a €4.3 million investment in late-2017 from Inkef, coming five months after Keij joined as CEO from Mapp Digital.
Four pillars of growth have been cited by Keij, including providing what he calls end-to-end localization (providing familiar language hosts and services for families) and strengthening its community of hosts around the world.
Withlocals is looking to expand beyond its current 30-city portfolio in Europe and Asia.
Keij says: "This is an important step to reach a larger group of customers and hosts and in the long run make a meaningful impact in the tours and activities space."
Inkef Capital recently invested in fellow Dutch travel startup PolarSteps, an app that allows travelers to log their trips in real time and share the results with friends and family.
Keij says: “The tours and activities segment is booming. Withlocals offers a welcome alternative to standard tours and skip-the-line tickets with personalized and unique experiences.
"This new round of funding will help us to connect more people and cultures, to offer a broader and more localized range of experiences and to build a strong community of hosts worldwide.”
