More user generated airline rating systems emerging with news that European metasearch engine WhichBudget has launched its own version this week.
The rating service, which looks reasonably low-key, works by showing a number of stars against the name of each airline but every time a user carries out a fare search on the WhichBudget site.
The decision to introduce such a system came after the company found in a survey of 2,000 users that 37% were as likely or more likely to favour an airline based on a review over price.
The service was launched last week after a period of user testing and to get a range of early scores against each airline.
WhichBudget CEO Martino Matijevic says the system is already proving to be a powerful tool, with some routes seeing charter airlines receiving less hits simply due to more people trusting scheduled carriers such as AirBerlin and EasyJet.
The move comes two months after hotel user review giant TripAdvisor launched airline ratings in the UK and US, adding to the growing number of sites (AirlineTest, FlightScore et al) with similar systems.
