VisitBritain is providing the public with tools on Facebook and other media to help promote the destination to friends and relatives.
This latest campaign 'Share your GREAT Britain' aims to attract tourists to the many events taking place this year including the 2012 Olympics and the Diamond Jubilee.
It also hopes to build on the existing VFR market which last year accounted for one in four visitors and £3.6 billion.
It is part of the 'GREAT Britain - You're Invited' push which began last year with filmed messages from celebrities including the actress Dame Judi Dench and chef Jamie Oliver.
Expedia, which is a VisitBritain partner, will push the message out to its database.
The campaign is part of a wider four-year effort to attract an additional four million visitors to Britain who will spend £2 billion.
Fans of VisitBritain's LoveUK page on Facebook will be able to personalise invitations to friends and family as well as access the '10 GREAT Reasons' app.
Tourism businesses are also being offered online tools via the VisitBritain website including digital postcards, posters and advertisement and newsletter templates.
