MakeMyTrip has seen it all in its home market of India - but the sector is changing rapidly.
In its early days, MakeMyTrip was focused almost exclusively on selling air tickets, yet recent years have finally found the accommodation end of the ecosystem opening up.
With recent investment from Ctrip and Naspers, group CEO Deep Kalra wants to ensure the company can capitalize on the opportunities becoming available with the digital distribution of branded hotels, chains and independents.
Despite the strategic support, he's not resting on his laurels, especially as large, global players eye the Indian market with a lot more experience and power than they had when MakeMyTrip first started in 2000.
