Uber is the most widely used ride-hailing service in 108 countries around the world, according to new data from SimilarWeb.
The analysis by the digital measurement company examined services in 171 countries and confirmed Uber's dominance in more than 100 of the markets.
The calculation was based on both the reach (percentage of downloads and installs on a device) and the number of daily active users.
The 63% share in popularity of the global market for Uber comes despite its recent decision to withdraw from the Chinese market in favour of selling the business to its rival, Didi.
The most popular countries for the $62 billion-valued company are its home market o the US and Australia, where it estimated to have been installed on 21% and 13% of all Android-enabled devices.
Where Uber may find it difficult to solidify and then accelerate its presence is in some Asia-Pacific markets, such as Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam, all of which are dominated by Grab, or South Korea (Kakao Taxi).
India's Ola is installed on 20% of all Android devices.
And, in Eastern Europe, where Yandex Taxi commands a major presence in Russia, Belarus and Armenia. Spain and Germany are claimed by MyTaxi.
One of the most remarkable examples of how quickly Uber has managed to unseat the local incumbent is in Brazil, where it has pushed past the existing and home-grown provider Easy Taxi in the early stages of 2016 as the most popular app, after a period of huge growth since July last year.
