Brian Kelly is an influential figure in the world of airline loyalty, launching The Points Guy as a consumer guide in 2010 and now overseeing a sizeable media business.
It launched in the U.S. and has recently launched operations in Europe.
At the heart of the business is a core review service for passengers looking to select an airline loyalty program, as well as recommendations and news on airports and other airline-related activity.
He was named the top influencer in travel in 2017 by Forbes - which means his existing audience and, importantly, airlines and airports take note of what he and his team have to say.
PhocusWire spoke to Kelly during the World Aviation Festival 2019 in London last week.
In the interview he discusses the evolution of the airline points model from miles to spend, alternative loyalty models and where the pain points in travel still exist.
He is hopeful that technology and investment in infrastructure is slowly improving the passenger experience over time.
