For travellers or businesses trying to capture the travel experience with photography, using the right equipment can mean the difference between simply snapping a moment and creating a lasting piece of memory.
But while we would all love to have everything you might ever need for any shoot, we all know that just isn’t the case.
Here is the essential photography kit for every traveler or business looking to capture the moment.
1. Adobe Lightroom 3
This is the equivalent of having an entire darkroom and print lab on your laptop.
You can edit and process images in myriad color and black-and-white options, then export low-rez and high-rez images, or upload them immediately to web sites, ftp servers and photo sharing sites etc.
You can also print right from the application for an incredibly speedy workflow.
2. Canon S95 Camera
Killer optics, RAW shooting capability, and a generously wide zoom lens of 28-105mm. All in a point and shoot that fits in a jeans pocket.
You'll shoot stunning 720p HD video with stereo sound, then watch it immediately on your HDTV with the simple HDMI connection.
3. Gitzo 6X Traveler Tripod
This tripod folds down to a super compact size, small enough that it fits inside a carryon camera bag or can simply slip onto a camera bag's waist belt when working quickly in the field.
This is the ideal solution for photographers on the move or where space and weight are key factors.
4. Think Tank SpeedRacer Belt Pack
Large enough to carry everything you need for a solo day of shooting, including a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens with a large DSLR body, multiple lenses, a Speedlite and water bottle etc.
The shoulder strap allows you to unclip the waist belt and swing the back forward for easy access and the stretchable mesh pockets are designed for items that you need to remove and retrieve quickly while shooting like lens caps.
5. Sticky Filters
Gels that stick on a Speedlite flash and allow you to quickly change the color of your strobe without having to worry about finding the right size.
No more green or amber backgrounds when using Sticky Filters, you just get good natural looking photos.
6. Westcott Illuminator 14" Sunlight/Silver Reflector
This amazingly bright folding reflector fits in the back pocket of a pair of jeans and provides really nice bounce/fill light to a subject for quick portraits.
High carbon steel frames are riveted to stand up to use and panels are compact, lightweight and convenient to carry.
