Two vacation rental technology startups have agreed to combine companies, three years on from their inception in the U.S.
Hostfully and Orbirental will merge under the former's name but will continue to serve their respective products under the existing brands.
The pair have operated as providers of property listing management services (Orbirental) and guest communications (Hostfully) since 2014 and 2015 respectively.
Hostfully founder Margot Schmorak will become CEO of the new entity, with Orbirental CEO Stephan Osmont becoming chief technology officer, Hostfully co-founder David Jacoby as president and Noah Neiman heading up product.

The two companies have raised a modest $500,000 between them, with Acceleprise having invested in both.
They have around 20,000 listings with the combined company and, alongside the core services, have developed channel management tools, personalization technology and owner admin functionality.
A Market Transformed: Private Accommodation in the U.S.
Schmorak (who has more details about how the merger came together in a blog post) says: "Our vision is aligned, our skills are a great match, and our products are complementary.
"Combined, we give vacation rental companies all the tools they need to run their business, including centralized reservations, channel management, and guest communications."
