Hoist Group has acquired HotelEngine, a Finland-based online booking tech specialist, for an undisclosed sum.
Hoist, which offers a range of services to hotels from property management to guest services, says the acquisition will help hotels attract more bookings via direct channels.

HotelEngine also offers a gift card service for hotels and restaurants. It was founded in 1999.
Its new owner, Hoist, was created in 1994 and launched subsidiaries in the Nordics, Russia and Finland between 1999 and 2009.
Hoist acquired Locatel in 2014 and Swisscom Hospitality in 2015. More recently it acquired hotel technology provider Paragon Systems.
Hoist runs a number of products including property management systems, in-room tech, smart locks and WiFi services.
