Handiscover, a startup to help people find and book
accessible hotel rooms and rental properties, has raised $700,000 to expand its
business in Europe.
The round was led by Howzat Partners with participation from
Tranquility Capital as well as previous investors including Entreprenörinvest,
Almi Invest and business angels.
"Handiscover fills a valuable gap in the travel market
with its focus on accessibility. We were impressed by the passion of the
founding team and the progress of the business,” says David Soskin, partner at
Howzat Partners.
Founder in 2015, Handiscover now has more than 28,000 vacation rentals and hotels in 83 countries on its platform. The system classifies accommodations
based on their level of accessibility, so travelers with reduced mobility or
special needs can search for suitable properties.

“We are very proud to get on board such experienced and
entrepreneurially-minded investors as our long-term partners," says Sebastien
Archambeaud, founder and CEO of Handiscover.
"With Howzat Partners' experience in travel technology
and Tranquility Capital's accessibility expertise, we will rapidly take our
business to the next level.”
In June, Handiscover announced an agreement with Amadeus to add that company’s hotel inventory to its system.
In November 2017, Airbnb acquired Accomable, another
accessible accommodations platform. Airbnb says it is
integrating Accomable’s listings into its system and improving search functions
for accessible listings.
