European online travel agency Directline Holidays predicts revenue growth of almost a third in 2011 and 50% increase in profits by the end of 2012.
The company admits 2010 "presented a difficult trading environment" but claims it has maintained margins across the business at the same time as expanding profits.
Precise trading figures were not disclosed as CEO Maria Whiteman revealed the company's outlook for next year alongside announcing ex-Wyndham Hotel Group director of ecommerce John Lucas into the same position at Directline Holidays.
Lucas was also previously director of hotel web services for Pegasus Solutions.
Whiteman has also publicly spoken about the rumours circulating during the summer over the long term future of the company.
Directline admitted at the time it had engaged with consultancy giant KPMG amid other rumours that it might be an acquisition target for Thomas Cook after its pledge to become a top European online travel agency within two years.
Whiteman says:

“We are approached all the time, it’s not something we are ruling out in the future and we are certainly keeping our options open but it’s not something we really comment on and there is nothing imminent in the pipeline.”
