It feels like a long time since PhocusWire first produced its visualization of digital travel company quarterly revenues going back decades in November 2019.
Since that first outing for the "racing bar charts" the industry has been hit with the coronavirus pandemic and revenues across the industry have slumped.
The most dramatic hit came in the second quarter of 2020 - a period that was the most brutal in the history of the online and travel technology sectors.
Some of the publicly listed players in the sector talked of early signs of a recovery in their revenues in the third quarter, as the latest version of the chart below indicates.
It is worth noting that Hostelworld has yet to report its Q3 earnings, so it has have temporarily fallen off the tool until its numbers are disclosed.
The chart begins in 1995.
