Camping World Holdings has acquired campsite booking technology specialist Nomad Reservations.
The recreational vehicle retailer says the acquisition boosts its data capabilities by providing it with “unique data points” on the customer’s forthcoming trips.
In a release the Illinois, U.S.-based company says the data points enable it to make “customized, relevant marketing communications” before during and after trips.
Nomad Reservations operates under the CampgroundBooking.com URL and helps travelers find and book campsite as well as providing a property management system to campsite owners.
The company also offers a trip planning tool to help travelers build up an itinerary of points of interest and camping sites.
Mark Lemonis, CEO and chairman of Camping World, says: “This technology acquisition complements other planned product launches such as the Peer-to-Peer RV Rental Platform and represents our goal of improving the RV and outdoor experience for our current and future consumers. These tools provide relevant data for real-time marketing messaging and engagement with our brand.”
A blog post by Nomad Reservations on the acquisition says it will enable the company to expand its platform more rapidly.
