Blacklane launches security-bypass services at 500 airports

Private car service Blacklane is expanding its offerings to let customers skip security and immigration lines and gain access to lounges at airports.

Blacklane PASS (Premium Airport Services and Solutions) will provide customers concierge-assisted arrival, connection and departure services at more than 500 airports around the world.

At arrival, a concierge will greet travelers plane-side or at customs (depending on the airport), take them to the front of customs and immigration lines, assist with luggage and escort them to their vehicle.

For departures, Blacklane will send a concierge to meet travelers at their vehicle, bypass security and immigration lines, assist with VAT refunds and escort travelers to their gate.

Similar assistance is available during connections.

“Airport concierge services are one of the most efficient ways to decrease your travel stress,” says Jens Wohltorf, CEO and co-founder of Blacklane.

“Now, thanks to our new service, it is also becoming one of the most affordable ways. Just as our chauffeured rides take stress out of travel on the road, PASS takes it away from the airports.”

Each instance of concierge assistance costs $100 and can be booked online, with or without Blacklane’s chauffeured rides.

With PASS, customers can also purchase pay-as-you-go airport lounge access for $50 per person. The passes allow for three hours in an airline or private lounge with amenities, including food, drinks and Wi-Fi.

Riding green

Blacklane has also added a new “Green Class” to its car service.

With an initial launch in 20 cities, Green Class gives travelers the option to book their ride in an emissions-free car such as a Tesla Model S and Model X.

As local chauffeurs add more qualifying vehicles to their fleets, Blacklane will extend Green Class to new cities.
