The Puerto Rico Tourism Company is partnering with hotel operations
platform ALICE and Roca Marketing to bolster tourism on the island by enhancing
communications between hotels and tourists.
The partnership comes nearly one year after Hurricane Maria struck
Puerto Rico, on September 20, 2017, causing widespread devastation.
Through the deal, hotels on the island can use ALICE’s concierge
software and communicate with guests via text message and the new “My Puerto
Rico” app.

The app, which is available to anyone visiting the island, also has
information about dining, transportation and attractions.
"My Puerto Rico mobile app was developed focusing on improving the visitor
experience in our destination, as part of the efforts to strengthen our tourism
offer,” says Puerto Rico governor Ricardo Rosselló Nevares.
“In order to compete globally, we need to
reinvent ourselves and adapt to the needs of a modern traveler, who carries out
all his efforts from the mobile phone.”
ALICE CEO Justin Effron says the initiative is unique since it is being
coordinated by the government and intended to improve personalization for all
visitors to Puerto Rico.
“In
hospitality, we often focus on differentiating hotels from one another, but in
this case, the Puerto Rico Tourism Company is bringing hotels together to
delight all who visit the island,” Effron says.
