travel industry is undergoing a significant transformation in its payment
systems, driven by technological advancements, evolving consumer preferences
and the complexities of global commerce. Payments are no longer just
transactional; they are central to customer experience, operational efficiency
and profitability.
“I
think the last five years you have seen more movement in payments than we had the
preceding 10,” said Wendy Ward, chief marketing officer at UATP, a global
payment network.
In an
interview in the PhocusWire studio at Phocuswright Europe, Ward explained how travel
companies have evolved from a focus on fixing cart abandonment to now
understanding that an effective payment strategy can also drive customer growth
and satisfaction.
