Tripfuser, a specialist in tailored travel, has raised £2.4 million as it looks to further expand the business.
Funding for the Australia-based company was led by the Royal Automobile Club of Victoria.
As part of the investment, Matt McCann, acting CEO for Tripfuser, takes on the role permanently.
McCann, who formerly held similar roles at iSelect and Compare the Market, has overseen changes in the past nine month including signing up more than 2,400 travel agents across Australia, New Zealand and Canada and increasing its travel experts network to more than 230.
McCann says: "RACV’s strategic investment provides the strongest endorsement for the Tripfuser tailored-travel marketplace and provides a platform for a long-term partnership."
He adds that Tripfuser’s network of local experts will be an advantage in a post COVID-19 world as traveler expectations change.
Craig Peachey, executive general manager for leisure at RACV, says the investment reflects the company’s “commitment to further expand and enhance its range of travel and holiday related products and services.”
The organization has already made investments in ten club and resort properties nationally.
Tripfuser founders Matt Beard and Len Cordiner are stepping back from their executive roles, with Beard becoming a non-executive director.
The remaining founders, Tuan Nguyen and Andre Franchini, are staying on the executive team.
