Dextr AI, an agent platform for hospitality, has announced $6.7 million in seed funding.
The investment was led by Elevation Capital, with Foundation Capital also participating.
The startup provides hotel employees with teams of artificial intelligence (AI) agents covering voice AI, guest management, back office operations, staff management and sales and marketing.
Dextr has also launched a command layer for the AI workforce called Doss Gen 1, which can be controlled using plain language, text or voice.
Dextr’s said its platform is powering more than a million monthly interactions across multiple hospitality verticals. It said one reservation center achieved $80,000 in incremental revenue within 60 days of “forward deploying” the technology. And, a destination resort achieved annual savings of $120,000 by cutting operating costs, the startup said.
“Hospitality operators have a deep staffing shortage that leads to gaps in service, revenue leakage, broken guest experience, and overworked staff. This is true for staff on property and across corporate teams,” said Sajid Shariff, founder and CEO of Dextr AI. “Our mission is to enable a fully agentic workforce that fills in the gaps, and enable staff to focus their time where it really matters - on guests.”
Dextr AI was founded by Shariff, a startup founder and former consultant with hospitality experience and Scott Arnold, co-founder and CTO who previously worked at Meta.
“The speed at which Dextr is winning hospitality is a testament to the urgency of the problem,” said Krishna Mehra, partner at Elevation Capital. “Sajid and Scott are the ideal team to build in this space, deep customer empathy due to extensive hospitality expertise and a strong understanding of how AI is reshaping guest expectations and experience.”
