Luggage shipping company Sherpr has launched a trade division in response to heightened demand for its door-to-door luggage shipping service.
As summer travel demand soars, airlines and airports have struggled with baggage handling due to staff shortages. In the United Kingdom alone, 30,000 airline and airport jobs have been lost over the past two years, and reports state that claims for lost luggage have spiked 30% since 2019.
Founded in the U.K. in 2017, Sherpr originally shipped oversize baggage such as bikes and golf clubs before expanding into the door-to-door delivery of regular luggage.
With the trade service, tour operators, travel agents and advisors can add luggage shipping onto their customers’ bookings using Sherpr’s B2B platform. They can also integrate the service into their products directly via API.

Once booked, customers complete a customs declaration via the Sherpr dashboard, where they can also track their luggage shipment. Transit times range from two to five days.
“From the start Sherpr has been about making travel easier, and removing the pain point that checked baggage often represents for many travelers - a pain that has never been more acute than it is now,” says Sherpr CEO Andrew Watson.
“We look forward to making luggage-free travel a reality for the customers of our trade partners, whilst also adding value for partners’ commercial teams.”
Sherpr operates in the U.K. as well as in the United States as of 2021 and the UAE as of April 2022 and can ship to other major destinations globally.
