Becoming rentABLE is a listing platform of accessible short-term rental properties. Our goal is to build our inventory of accessible properties by educating about and certifying properties for accessibility beyond just a wheelchair to include mobility, cognitive, hearing and sight disabilities, as well as the fast-growing aging population, because we know accessibility is a part of life for everyone.

Strategic goals for 2026
In 2026, we aim to drive growth by increasing the number of Becoming rentABLE certified properties, giving renters more options when they need a place to stay—expanding even further our endeavors to include more properties at state parks, in camping communities or while participating in medical trials. Our mission is to ensure that renters have a safe, welcoming place to stay, whether that be after a medical experience, for a vacation in the mountains, a business trip in the city, an emergency relocation or for whatever else life my bring a renter’s way.
We also plan to enhance our website experience on both desktop and mobile to reduce friction, increase user engagement and grow web traffic. In addition, we will continue to seek out partnerships with companies and individuals who share our values, working together to create a better and more inclusive short-term rental experience.
Lessons learned since founding
Since founding Becoming rentABLE, we’ve learned that staying adaptable is essential. This lesson has reinforced the importance of continually learning, evolving and growing. If an initiative or decision isn’t heading in the direction you want, there’s no shame in pivoting or retooling. Sunk costs are real, but recognizing when a change in direction is necessary has kept us nimble and has allowed us to continue driving meaningful change in our industry.
