Munich-based vacation rental search engine and software provider Holidu has acquired vacation rental platform Spain-Holiday to expand its services in Spain.
Terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed, but as part of the transaction, Spain-Holiday will merge with Holidu subsidiary Bookiply.
According to Holidu, the merger of Spain-Holiday and Bookiply – a property management tool for rental homeowners – will considerably expand its customer base, making it the market leader in the brokerage and management of properties in Spain.
"After our first conversations with the Spain-Holiday board, it quickly became clear that we share the same mission: to finally make the search and booking of vacation rentals easy. This is because the vacation rentals market is still not fully transparent and technologically lags behind other markets,” says Holidu CEO Johannes Siebers.

“With the acquisition of Spain-Holiday, we are writing a new chapter for both companies, in which we are expanding our innovative technologies and unique service in the vacation rental market Europe-wide.”
The integration of Spain-Holiday will give vacation homeowners who list on the platform more visibility and additional advantages in the management of their property, such as marketing on all major booking portals, synchronization of calendars and central management of payments.
Says Spain-Holiday CEO Jannich Friis Petersen: “Both Spain-Holiday and Holidu aim to support vacation homeowners in a professional yet simple way. The new partnership will help vacation homeowners and their properties gain much more visibility. Vacationers will benefit from improved service thanks to Holidu’s technology, such as direct booking options.”
Holidu, which in May of this year raised $45 million in Series D funding, says it has been operating profitably since May of 2020.
In August 2021, the company says it recorded a 2.6-fold growth compared to the same period in 2019.
Founded in 2014, Holidu has more than 300 employees in 13 locations around the globe.
