American Express Global Business Travel has been doing some number crunching to find out what travellers might expect to pay for the various components of the journey in 2014.
The company says it's less about the impact of global economic trends and more about changes from suppliers reacting to changing business travel spending behaviour as well as country specific economic trends.
Trends to look out for include:
- Some of the greatest air and hotel price increases from the Latin America region driven by the larger economies.
- Hotel increases expected across the EMEA region while the larger airlines are expected to start adopting the low cost model.
- Higher air and hotel price increases are expected in the APAC region compared to the US or Europe because of regional economic growth.
- When it comes to ground transport the study suggests flat rates to slight increases in car rental in Europe but price rises in the US because of consolidation and vehicle cost increases.
The findings are drawn from the
Amex 10th Annual Business Travel Forecast.
