Corporate travel technology provider TripChamp has added a further $2 million to its coffers by way of a new funding round.
Backing the company is The Bird Group, an India-based travel tech company which also operates the Amadeus India national marketing organisation.
The cap-raise is the sixth such injection of funds into the US-based TripChamp, including $1 million in November 2012 and another $1 million in November 2014.
The company's total to date is $6.2 million.
The funds will be used to accelerate the development strategy and increase its customer service provision.
The seven-year-old company provides a corporate travel booking platform, giving users access to negotiated fares for air tickets and hotels, as well as aggregating information on rates from multiple sources – such as GDSs, consolidators, individual business travel agents, direct connects with suppliers.
It then uses predictive algorithms and machine learning to help business travellers access a variety of options from different distributors, thus bringing personalized travel search into the corporate travel space.
The funding round was first mooted in November last year but was only confirmed this week.
CEO Alex Greystoke says:

"This financing not only validates our capabilities in the travel industry, but it also ensures that Tripchamp can scale its growth and provide the best service and experience possible for our users."
The Bird Group owns and operates Amadeus India from its Delhi headquarters and has been in operation for since 1994. Amadeus India distributes travel technology in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives.
