HVS, a US-based hospitality consultancy, has released its 2013 US HVS-STR Hotel Valuation Index.
The study forecasts changes in per-room value through 2016 for the ten markets that are anticipated to fare the best, along with the US predicted average. As you can see in this chart, built on data from the study, Florida dominates the table -- with six of the ten hottest growth markets for the next three years.
Florida's current star cities for hotels will remain strong, with an average room rate of $100 a night.
Looking nationally, the survey suggests that in summer 2013 US hotel values will finally returning to per-room valuation highs last seen in 2006. If that trend holds steady, at current rates, Florida may turn out to be the hottest US hotel market over the next three years.
