Private jet subscription service Surf Air will start operating in Europe this May and will use specialist technology from Zuora to optimise its operations and revenues.
The airline has a fleet of private jets which can serve smaller airports and allow its clients to avoid the delays and pressures of busier mainstream airports. Its US operation launched in 2013 and has grown to 3000 subscribers. For a monthly fee members have unlimited access to the service.
The airports in Europe it plans to connect are London (Luton and Biggin Hill), Ibiza, Cannes, Luxembourg and Zurich.
Members book their seats via an app.
The airline is positioning itself as part of the "subscription economy" and references how businesses from Netflix to Uber via Deliveroo are increasingly offering users a subscription service.
Zuora is a cloud-based subscription relationship management platform which offers its enterprise users such as Surf Air options such as "rapidly experimenting with pricing; tailoring offers based on member insights; easing the complexity of electronic payments; and automating high volumes of transactions."
