Stayfolio has won a $4.5 million investment round from TBT Partners and Quad.
The South Korea-based business will use the Series A capital to expand the business both geographically and by adding more inventory to the accommodation platform.
The company was founded in 2015 and provides a combination of luxury vacation rental properties and rooms from boutique hotels properties.
Stayfolio says the average stay at one of its properties comes in at around $320 to $440 per night across its portfolio of 200.
The initial growth trajectory has been to expand the business around South Korea but it now expects to launch in other markets.
It claims to have experienced some 300% revenue growth during 2020, despite the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
So far in 2021 the company has secured 8,000 bookings per months, bringing it to 200,000 total to date, it says.
A particularly successful strategy has been to attract influencers and celebrities to its properties, giving it a sizeable Instagram presence and capturing the attention of TV companies that have then used the company for production shoots.
CEO Benny Lee says: "We wanted to challenge the norm. A great deal of time is spent on travel and we believe that for this investment, travelers deserve to utilize their entire trip, not just their day-time activities."
