Ryanair is to embark on another salvo of anti-screenscraper action in the courts, with Expedia the latest intermediary in its crosshairs.
The low-cost carrier will not comment on the impending action but The Times says papers were filed last week and it is now understood that the legal process is due to begin in the coming days.
The case is expected to focus on a similar path of a case currently going through the Irish courts against eDreams Odigeo, whereby it is alleged to be mis-selling the airline's fares and services on its own website.
Consumers can currently buy Ryanair flights on the Expedia site.
Expedia says is does not comment on pending litigation.
Ryanair and eDreams Odigeo have traded blows publicly for the best part of a few years over the carrier's accusations of mis-selling, with search giant Google also dragged into the same case as that of the online travel agency - it being accused of allowing "misleading" ads to appear in its own search results.
Somewhat ironically, Expedia sister site Hotels.com is one of a number of accommodation suppliers for the Ryanair Rooms service that launched in October last year, alongside Hotelopia and HRS.
Expedia and Ryanair are old enemies when it comes to appearances in the courts, with the pair falling out over the terms of their contract which ran from March 2007 to November 2008.
The OTA was asked to cough up around £4 million after Ryanair claimed a failure of payments by the OTA during its contract to supply hotel search and booking functionality to the airline's website.
