Following its $25 million funding haul in February, RV rental service Outdoorsy is expanding to the Asia Pacific region.
The service is now live in Australia and New Zealand, and in addition to peer-to-peer RV rentals, Outdoorsy will offer vehicles through partnerships with campervan providers Jucy and SpaceShips.
Founded in 2015, Outdoorsy has the largest bookable inventory of RVs, campervans, motor coaches and travel trailers. Its launch in Asia Pacific follows the company’s expansion to Canada late last year.
“With Australia and New Zealand being synonymous with outdoor adventures, road trips and beautiful landscapes, this region is the next natural step in our robust global growth plan as we build the world’s third lodging category,” says Jeff Cavins, co-founder and CEO of Outdoorsy.
“This growth is yet another proof point that we are tapping into a cross-cultural consumer travel trend focused on the desire for unique experiences over material possessions.”
Outdoory’s marketplace has generated more than $130 million, and more than 300,000 travel days were booked over the past year. Growth beyond North America and Asia Pacific is planned for Germany, France, Italy and the United Kingdom.
