Ever since we first started talking about Tnooz in the summer of 2009, tech-driven bits of travel gear and gadgets were always going to be part of the mix - somehow.
We were then overtaken with events, such as the small matter of getting the business off the ground and making a name for ourselves - albeit with a very small team - with hard news and analysis, launching events and such like.
No-one will begrudge us for focusing on that first!
Three years in, and with a fantastic and growing editorial team, we are now ready to unleash TCritic - our channel for reviewing gadgets, apps and the kind of stuff that you, dear readers, may well consider buying or using yourselves.
The aim of this series is to deliver reviews of software (such as apps and web services) and hardware (travel-related bits of kit) in both its digital and physical form.
From real-world app reviews to essential gear testing, from travel must-haves to new travel trinkets, we aim to offer our signature critical take on gear in its various travel-world incarnations.
Reviewers will range from the Tnooz staff and our illustrious Nodes, to road warriors and travel industry veterans - anyone with a perspective on a particular product is welcomed.
Our first review (a supposedly disaster-proof portable hard drive) went live today, put together by our (kinda) new and wonderfully enthusiastic reporter Nick Vivion. [He has a very infectious fondness for gadgets, as you'll see on the video].
Each item will be reviewed thoroughly, rated against certain criteria, road-tested (thrown down the stairs, put in the freezer, as you'll see from Nick's review) and given an overall score.
So, for review suggestions - or to nominate yourself as a potential TCritic - please email Nick Vivion or the info line.
