Mobile travel application and in-flight entertainment specialist ImmFly has secured a $2.7 million (Euro 2.4 million) investment round.
Backing the company is Spanish private equity firm Caixa Capital Risc.
The company says it wants to become the "travel industry's favourite on-board monetization partner", with a vision to be in the hands of 100 million passengers by 2018.
ImmFly creates mobile applications for airlines so that passengers can access entertainment and other services whilst on-board using an aircraft's wifi system.
The apps also contain information about a destination and the opportunity to buy services and products at the passenger's destination, such as hotels, tours and activities, restaurant bookings.
The company is currently working with Iberia Express to install the service on its entire fleet of aircraft.
ImmFly has secured content deals with the BBC, Bloomberg News and the FT.
Over 200,000 passengers have used the app following it was gradually introduction on Iberia Express services in late-2015, ImmFly claims.
Somewhat oddly, ImmFly refused to confirm the value of the investment, but Caixa did.
