With no hint of abatement, e-mail marketing continues in full force. It provides an effective way to deliver comprehensive, timely information to consumers, and yet, as many consumers switch to mobile devices for everyday e-mail, open rates for unoptimized emails are dropping.
Researchers point to mobile optimized emails as the source of a recent increase in open rates, going up to 5.4%. This is still an inordinately small number of opens, which highlights how important it is to have either a large or targeted list - preferably both.
