HotelTonight hires new marketing head
- Ray Elias joins the hotel booking app as chief marketing officer from NatureBox where he held the same role for nine months until February this year. Prior to NatureBox, he previously had a CMO position and other marketing and ecommerce roles at event ticket service StubHub.
Cheapflights appoints tourism boss
- The Momondo Group-run metasearch brand has a tourism board partnerships manager in the shape of Adam Forsdike, reporting to head of sales in the UK and emerging markets, Ricky Wilkes. Forsdike was previously an account manager on the commercial team at Cheapflights following stints at Metro Newspaper, Contiki and in PR.
Hotelogix gets enterprise boss
- Sivaprasad Gangadharan joins the property management system provider as senior vice president for enterprise sales, with a particular focus on India, South East Asia and the Middle East. From August 2010 to November 2015, Gangadharan was regional director for subcontinent sales at IDEAS following a 15-year career in sales at IDS Sofware.
Friday 26 August 2016:MSI has a commander-in-chief
- Mark Loyd becomes president for the property management software company, based in Phoenix, Arizona. He was previously senior vice president of Atrio Solutions at Springer-Miller Systems and was chief strategy officer at MSI between 2013 and 2015. He started he career at Remco Software.
Springer-Miller juggles management team
- Michelle Young is promoted to vice president for sales and marketing at the hospitality management system provider. Senior vice president of operations, Robert Selwah, becomes president of the entire business, having joined from KPMG in May 2007.
Thursday 25 August 2016:Travel Audience hires Facebooker
- The Amadeus-owned demand platform has brought in Diana Doneit to become team lead for campaign management, overseeing all advertising activity for the company's travel brand customers. She joins from Facebook where she managed the social network's client solutions team in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Monday 22 August 2016:Doug Anderson joins Amex TMC as CEO
- The hiring of the former-CWT boss as president and CEO comes as part of a series of high-profile moves in the world of travel management in recent months. Anderson left CWT in April this year (replaced by ex-Travelport exec Kurt Ekert), whilst American Express Global Business Travel's president and CEO, Bill Glenn, departed just a few days later.
Tuesday 16 August 2016:Sabre has installed a new VP of global sales and account leadership for its corporate business division
- Florian Tinnus will lead global sales and develop a commercial strategy for Sabre Traveler Experience from Southlake, Texas. Tinnus had previously been the global head of Corporate Travel IT for the Amadeus IT Group.
Knowcross, the hotel management tech specialist, appoints a new CTO
- The tech company for hotel operations has filled its chief technology officer position with Manpreet Singh, who was most recently with Monster.com. He will oversee the company’s Quality Assurance and Systems Administration departments.

- Sapphire Innovation, a Swiss-based SaaS business which works with airlines on cash and revenue predictive analytics, has named Cláudia Sofia Simões as head of global aviation engagements. She joins from Swiss Aviation Software, a subsidiary of Swiss International Air Lines. Her CV also includes senior roles at Portugal's TAP Express.
HolidayPirates gets UK boss
- Deals and inspiration specialist HolidayPirates.com has named as Tony Rosa as its new UK head of market. He joins from Secret Escapes. Holiday Pirates Group operates in partnership with e-commerce incubator 6 Minutes Media and has sites in 11 different countries, including the US. The UK is its second biggest market after Germany.
Thursday 4 August 2016:TUI commits to IT apprenticeships
- The company behind the Fist Choice and Thomson brands in the UK says it will deliver more than 2,000 apprenticeships by 2020, with many going the way of positions in its IT and digital departments. The move comes ahead of changes to apprenticeships rules that come into force in the UK in April 2017.
Tuesday 2 August 2016:Egencia VP joins Trainline
- Trainline has appointed Sophie Krishnan as general manager, business & ancillaries, running its Trainline for Business unit. She joins after five years with Egencia, Expedia’s business travel arm, where her roles include Paris-based VP of business development and strategy and, more recently, VP of product and marketing in London.
SiteMinder opens Ireland office
- The ten-year-old travel services provider will create its Irish base in the west city of Galway, becoming its fourth office alongside the Sydney, Australia, headquarters. Ruairi Conroy will run the base as general manager, having joined from AdRoll.
