Thomson has lost its coveted pole position at the head of leading websites in the UK to rival brand Expedia.
Expedia pushed into first place with an increase in market share of just o.25%, as Thomson lost around 0.3% over the same period. The retaking of the lead coincides with a similar switch in 2011, in the week leading up to nation-wide school holidays in the UK.
Elsewhere in the same category, Thomas Cook lost 0.5% and Lastminute.com gained a similar amount, although both remained in their respective third and fourth positions.
