SITA has agreed to acquire Flightscape, CAE’s airline operations software business, in a deal with an enterprise value of $500 million.
Flightscape provides software used by more than 90 airlines for flight planning, crew management, operations control, ground activities and in-flight services.
SITA plans to bring Flightscape’s software together with its existing technologies in stages after the acquisition is complete. The company said the combination will help airlines coordinate operations, anticipate disruptions and improve recovery.
“Airlines need to make the best possible use of their aircraft, crews and infrastructure while responding to increasingly complex operational challenges,” said David Lavorel, CEO of SITA. “With Flightscape, we will bring together our respective complementary capabilities to strengthen what we offer airlines and connect their operational decisions with insight from across the aviation ecosystem.”
The deal follows SITA’s purchase of sustainable aviation technology provider Safety Line in 2021 and disruption management platform Big Blue Analytics earlier this year. SITA also agreed this month to acquire Collins Aerospace’s airport IT business.
The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
