Two-thirds of hotel guest travel reviews are positive and English-speaking travellers are the wordiest, reveals a study by ReviewPro.
The online reputation management company analyzed over 15 million online guest reviews written in 24 languages from more than 100 OTAs and review sites for the past one year (ending November 2013).
Reviews by language
The study says that 66% of guest reviews are positive, only about 10% reviews are negative, and the remaining are neutral.
Chinese guests (77%) write the most positive reviews, followed by English (69.8%) and Russian (68.5%) language speakers.
When it comes to negative reviews, again Chinese guests tops the list with only 5% negative reviews. But, it has to be noted that only 1% of the total reviews are in Chinese language.
About 56% of the total guest reviews are in English, followed by German (8.4%), French (7.6%), Spanish (6.3%) and Italian (6.3%).
Reviews by length
Russian travellers write the wordiest reviews with an average of 879 characters. But, it is worth noting that reviews in Russian accounts for only 1.9% of total reviews.
English speakers take the second place with an average of 528 characters, an increase of 36.2% from the next most chattier guests: Italians (at 387 characters).
Reviews in Arabian, Korean, Romanian and Chinese have the least characters.
