Carlson Wagonlit Travel launched The Savvy Traveler blog, which it says is geared to provide tips and best practices for business and leisure travelers.
Nick Vournakis, general manager of CWT Canada, writes in one of the early posts, that he's "excited to help launch our newest foray into social media. Sure, we may be a little late to the blogging game, but like fine wine we needed to age a little before we opened up."
Upcoming topics, Vournakis writes, will range from travel and security to family vacations and "the value in booking hotels from your travel management company."
Regarding the TMC value theme, CWT, which plans to enlist posts from several travel experts, should be careful to ensure that the blog doesn't read and sound like a not-so-veiled advertisement for CWT.
For example, take a look at the following posted video, which is full of statements about the wisdom in adhering to corporate travel policies and all of the value that travel management companies, such as CWT, bring to business travelers.

I would guess this video might be a big yawn for most business travelers, although it could be useful for a new employee who's never traveled in a managed travel program.
Corporate blogs usually walk a fine line, and tend to be most successful when they offer a voice that comes off as genuine and provide their audience with real insights.
