Despite more wifi being available on aircraft, 61% of business travellers prefer to stay disconnected during a flight, research by
American Express Global Business Travel reveals.
According to the research, business travellers in the US take about seven business trips by air each year. Below are other interesting findings from the research about US business travellers:
- 35% of travellers reported that their companies are willing to cover the cost of wifi while flying
- 38% of travellers surveyed whose companies do not cover the in-flight wifi expense reported that they might pay for it from their personal expense
- 35% of travellers make more day trips compared to overnight stays
- 66% of travellers have extended a business trip in order to take a personal vacation in the past year
- 23% of travellers work while on long-haul flights and 56% of travellers spend their time by watching movies or reading books
- Only 1% of travellers socialize during their flight travel
- When it comes to hotel stays, most travellers prefer to take advantage of the availability of wifi
