Staynex Group has acquired Switzerland-based Sleap.io in a $15 million deal that includes the company’s hotel booking technology and core team.
The combined platform will integrate Sleap’s booking infrastructure alongside rewards linked to Staynex’s $STAY token, social membership tiers and both crypto and fiat payment options, according to the companies.
The deal also expands Staynex’s geographic footprint, adding Sleap’s European market presence to its existing base in Asia.
Sleap, founded in 2023, developed a hotel booking engine with access to over 1.5 million properties worldwide alongside capabilities including cryptocurrency payments and wallet-based authentication.
Staynex, headquartered in Singapore, has been developing a travel platform that combines artificial intelligence-driven trip planning, a membership model and token-based rewards.
The acquisition comes ahead of Staynex’s planned token generation event and exchange listing, with booking capabilities intended to enable use of its token in travel transactions. Sleap also brings partnerships with cryptocurrency exchanges Gate and Coinbase.
“This acquisition is exactly what Staynex needs to accelerate our global ambitions,” said Yuen Wong, CEO and founder of Staynex Group. “Combining [Sleap’s] platform with our token ecosystem and community ahead of our April milestones gives us a significant strategic advantage.”
The deal reflects broader experimentation with cryptocurrency-based payments and rewards in travel, as companies test new models for booking and loyalty.
Michael Ros, founder of Sleap, will join Staynex as CEO of Europe, with the broader Sleap team transitioning across product, engineering and commercial functions.
The combined entity will operate under the Staynex brand.
