On a scale of one to 10, with one being where airline distribution was in the 1980s and 10 being the utopia the industry’s dreamed of, where does the current ecosystem reside?
When asked this question during the Executive Roundtable: Air Distribution Confusion - New Rules, New Roles at The Phocuswright Conference last month, opinions differed.
The panelists, comprising Vince Chirico, senior vice president of global supply chain partners at CWT, Arber Deva, senior director, head of distribution solutions at Lufthansa Group; Roshan Mendis, chief commercial officer at Sabre Travel Network; and Moshe Rafiah, CEO of Travelfusion, gave answers ranging from a two in the corporate sector to an eight by next year as NDC gears up for prime time.
And where is the airline industry at with NDC, exactly, and - perhaps more importantly - as an NDC-enabled world materializes, who in the equation is going to gain control of distribution?
The panel, moderated by PhocusWire editor in chief Kevin May, discusses this and much more in the full session below.
