Airline and airport tech provider SITA has bought fellow French travel brand Safety Line.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Safety Line was created in 2010 by Pierre Jouniaux in Paris, France, with a strategy to organize and manage data for airlines so that they can make decisions that reduce fuel consumption and subsequent CO2 levels.
Additional products include its AirsideWatch platform, helping airports to improve operations, safety Management and oversee their environmental impact.
SITA and Safety Line first began working together in September 2020.
Safety Line had previously raised around $3.5 million in funding.
The acquisition will help SITA "accelerate the development of sustainable solutions that can be integrated with its existing suite of airline and airport solutions," the company says.
SITA says there is "growing pressure" on airlines to reduce their carbon footprint, with 3% of worldwide emissions being accounted for by aviation.
