Lufthansa Group has launched Yilu, a B2B startup that grew out of its innovation hub.
The Berlin-based startup is a travel and transportation platform which aims to bring together services from a number of providers on to one platform.
The integration of mytaxi enabling Eurowing’s customers to book transfers via the carrier’s app is the first step.
Yilu will continue to seek further partnerships so that hotels, airlines and other travel companies can access the content from a single platform and offer it via their websites and apps. It also aims to minimize development and maintenance time for partner companies integrating new content.
The 25-strong team is also working on further developing the technology behind the platform so that it can serve up “personalized and highly contextualized partner offerings” to end consumers.
In a statement, chief executive Mark Meusch says Yilu also plans to add a recommendations engine at some point.
The startup also plans to double the size of team by summer next year.
